Reading should be an important part of our life. Also, even though everyone is reading on tablets and electronic devices, real books are always beautiful to keep at home and to show on beautiful bookcases such as the ones that My Italian Living sells. On this section of our website, we present some amazingly beautiful bookcases, often put into the normal environment of a furnished room. This may inspire you and give you some ideas for your rooms. Bookcases can be great for every room: you can put one in the toilet, to keep a good selection of books and magazines at hand, in your bedroom, of course, where you could keep your favourite ones, the ones you always open when you need some comfort; in your office, especially those books that you may need to consult for your work; in the living room, where you could put the biggest, the heaviest and the most beautiful, just to impress your guests; and then in the kitchen, where you could keep your recipe books, to take them out every time you don't remember something while cooking.
Bookcases are, therefore, an essential piece of furniture. We want to give you some ideas of how you could use them and where. If you think that the traditional, wooden shelves to keep books are a bit too old school and serious for your modern and colourful style, don't worry – we have the solutions. We suggest you to take a look at the beautiful Japan by Infiniti , which would give a very original touch to your private library. Also Viper by Santa Lucia has a contemporary design, but if you want to go for something very bright and eye-catching, you should probably check Grey by Morassutti.
Remember that you can combine bookshelves and bookcases with cases that may contain the television, pictures or other ornaments. So, even if you are an e-book lover, you can always put your old books on the shelves and fill the rest of the bookcases with other objects, such as vases, flowers and so on. Since winter is definitely on its way, you'll probably going to spend a lot of time inside, watching the telly and lying on the sofa. Why not take out a book then? Reading is always good for our memory, for opening our minds, for knowing worlds we would never know otherwise. Also, the books you are jealously keeping today may be of great value tomorrow. So make sure you're keeping them well! Isn't it a great satisfaction when you look at your bookcases and see all the books that you read in your life and consider how well-kept and tidy they are. If the house of your books is an amazing Italian-designed bookcase, then there is nothing more we can tell you – you're a true book lover!
